Halloween

Our kids were very excited for Halloween this year. Abbey was off school on Friday so it was great because she was home with us all day. We first had to visit the dentist in the morning. Which is pretty funny since all the Halloween candy will rot the kids teeth. Then we were home most of the day until 2:30. I made the kids get dressed up around 3:00 and then we went to another doctor's appointment. The kids were getting some pretty good looks at the dr's office. After that visit we went home to get ready for our ward's trunk-or-treat. We made some soup and took pictures of the kids. Abbey was dressed as a zombie something? She wanted to make her own costume this year, so we used an old white dress and ripped it up a little bit. We bought her the wig and glued spiders all over it. Getting her to put on the makeup was sort of a fiasco. She does not like wearing lipstick or paint on her face. I think she looked pretty spooky when it was all put together. Spencer was the easiest to get into his costume, no complaining or crying. Noelle was very upset to wear her poodle costume. She cried for 1/2 hr, but I tried not to give in so she could get used to wearing it. She never would wear her hood that has a cute puppy face on it. Finally we made it to the trunk-or-treat which is always fun to see friends dressed up. We came home and walked up and down our own street. Most of the homes were older neighboors who gave the kids tons of candy. We have way too much candy now. After we walked the neighboorhood the kids had fun handing out candy to trick-or-treaters who came to our door. The best part about the night was how wonderful the weather was. It was so nice that we were not freezing or walking in rain. NO one had to wear a coat or winter boots! So we were totally exhausted afterwards and I am so glad we are done with Halloween until next year.
